Our History
The Rotary Club of SeaTac-Tukwila carries forward more than half a century of service in our community. Our roots reach back to 1968, when the Southcenter Rotary Club was chartered in Tukwila. Over time, additional Rotary clubs were formed to serve the growing communities around us, including the Tukwila Rotary Club, later known as the Duwamish Southside Rotary, and the Rotary Club of SeaTac.
For decades, these clubs built their own traditions while sharing the same commitment to service above self. Their members supported local students and schools, awarded scholarships, helped families in need, welcomed youth exchange students, strengthened community programs, and contributed to Rotary projects around the world. Many of the projects we continue today grew from those earlier clubs and the Rotarians who sustained them year after year.
In the late 2010s, the SeaTac, Duwamish Southside/Tukwila, and Southcenter clubs joined together as the Rotary Club of SeaTac-Tukwila. By combining their experience, relationships, and traditions of service, they created one club serving both communities. Today, we are proud to continue a Rotary legacy that began in this area in 1968 and to keep finding new ways to serve SeaTac and Tukwila for generations to come.
